The 3.5 km long city walls, dating back to Venetian times, harbour many church ruins, the Othello Castle and the Gothic style St. Nicholas Cathedral (nowadays Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque). We now visit the area of “Varosha”, known as “ghost town”. It rose to fame after the British built a club called “King George” followed by foreigners building summer houses and culminated in the 60’s and early 70’s with luxury hotels built between 1960-1974.
