Day 2 | DAY AT SEA
Norway’s fjords are remarkably stunning, such that several have been inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list for their ‘outstanding universal value’. With their shores covered by dense forests and marked by waterfalls plunging into the sea, these famous sites are truly breathtaking. On a day like this you will be able to enjoy these treasures.
day 3 | OSLO, NORWAY – (8am till 4pm)
Norway’s charming capital city is a vibrant mix of modern architecture and world-class museums alongside 10th century Viking history. The city is framed by the 100-kilometer long Oslo fjord and surrounded by rolling hills, vast parks and lush forests, which means that the pure pleasures of nature are easily accessible. The ship has various optional excursions available all offering memorable highlights such as the Akershus Fortress, Royal Palace, Parliament Building, Nobel Institute, Vigeland Park, Viking Ship Museum and the Open-Air Folk Museum.
day 4 | KRISTIANSAND, NORWAY – (8am till 5pm)
Known as the Norwegian Riviera with the nickname ‘Summer City’, this charming city is the fifth-largest city in Norway but small enough to be enjoyed on a leisurely walk. The history of Kristiansand spans more than 370 years with many areas embodying this long history, from the stunning Kilden Performing Arts Centre, which opened in 2012, to the Old Town’s timber buildings and houses dating back to the 1700s. A great way to see Kristiansand is on foot and the main dock is 300 metres walking distance from town. Alternatively, you can book one of the shore excursions offered by the ship.
day 5 | STAVANGER, NORWAY – (8am till 3pm)
Before this port city earned its status as the epicenter of ‘black gold’, it was a shipbuilding and a fish-canning town. It is now home to top-notch fusion restaurants and a bustling nightlife. Optional excursions offered by Holland America include a culinary tour exploring the traditions of Norway’s gastronomic capital, a cruise through the idyllic Stavanger Archipelago to Lysefjord where one can view Pulpit Rock – a promontory which juts more than 1500 feet above the sea, and city center tours amongst other options.
day 6 | FLAM, NORWAY – (7am till 7pm)
Flam and its surrounding area are places to stop, gaze and linger. The village has an easy pastoral rhythm with no traffic lights. There are many ways to take in the majestically beautiful landscapes. The Flam Railway is a must here. Described by many as the world’s most beautiful train journey, the train runs from the end of Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the Sognefjord, up to the high mountains at Myrdal Station. This journey displays the very best aspects of Western Norway’s stunning scenery. This excursion is very popular. We highly recommend that one books it as early as possible prior to departure in order to avoid any disappointments.
day 7 | DAY AT SEA
The ship will be spending the day at sea on its way back to Amsterdam. Launched in October 2020, ms Rotterdam is the third of the Pinnacle-class fleet and hits all the right notes: exquisite dining, innovative entertainment, superbly appointed staterooms and suites, the finest service and craftsmanship that reflects nearly 150 years of seafaring expertise. Music is front and center on this new cruise ship and the result is a ship that moves—not only through water, through the hearts of guests. Rotterdam will be the soundtrack of discovery from that very first day to the end of each perfect night.
Day 8 | DISEMBARKATION
The ship docks in Amsterdam at 7am. Transfer to Amsterdam Schiphol airport for our return flight to Malta departing at 11.50am.
