WEDNESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER | In the early morning meet the Tour Leader at Malta International Airport in time for your flight to Munich departing at 0900hrs. Upon arrival, commence your marvelous journey and drive towards Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria’s biggest lake. Embark on one of the boats that make the route from the shores to the fabulous castle island (extra) home to the Versailles inspired castle: The Herrenchiemsee Palace (extra). Later continue your journey towards the hotel with a stop for dinner before check-in, room allocation and overnight.

THURSDDAY 12 SEPTEMBER | Soon after breakfast enjoy a full day (optional) excursion to Berchtesgaden, plunging deep into Austria and framed by six high-rise mountain ranges. Every corner here is drop-dead-gorgeous and steeped in myths and legends. And you can experience all this by visiting (extra) The Berchtesgaden salt mine; a modern adventure mine and an impressive journey into the world of salt. Later continue your travel to Lake Konigsee, perhaps Germany’s most photogenic body of water before your return to the hotel for dinner.

FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER | Join your fellow group members on yet another remarkable day (optional) excursion. Start your day by taking the cable car (extra) to the top of Grafenberg mountain for spectacular vistas. Afterwards head to Salzburg, reclining at the foot of wooded cliffs, with its jewel box of churches, abbeys, and domes. Everywhere you go, you are forced to look up in wonder: at the whopping hilltop fortress; at lavishly gilded palaces and concert halls where Mozart once performed; at mountains peeking up on the horizon where Maria (Julie Andrews) had her twirling The Sound of Music debut. To maximize the time in Salzburg, dinner will not be served at the hotel.

SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER | Another full day (optional) excursion awaits you today. Start your day with a visit to the Hohenwerfen Fortress (extra). Perched on a steep peek, high above the valley, where the gentle breeze from the surrounding mountains caresses your face. The visit also includes a birds of prey show staged by the historic regional falconry centre. Falcons, vultures, eagles, and other local birds of prey show their flying skills several times a day and give an insight into the great century-old art of falconry. Later head to Bischoshofen before a visit to Lake Jagersee before dinner (extra) back at the hotel

SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER | After breakfast join your tour leader for a full day (optional) excursion to Zell am See, with its bluer-than-blue lake, pocket-sized centre studded with brightly painted chalets, and the snowcapped peaks that lift your gaze to postcard heaven. Later visit the Sigmund Thun Gorge (Extra); a natural spectacle that illustrates the effect of elemental forces through sturdy rock and stones creating a 320-m-long path lined with vortexes, gradings and pools.  Afterwards head back to hotel in time for dinner (extra).

MONDAY 16 SEPTEMBER | Today head to Lake Gosau, a real natural spectacle, and the ultimate photo hotspot. This small mountain lake is a nature reserve and characterised by very cold, clear water of drinking water quality. Later continue your way towards the lakeside picture-perfect town of Hallstatt, a quintessential Alpine lakeside burg, with its pretty houses and slender church spire clustered along the lakeshore against a spectacular backdrop of mountains. Dinner (extra) back at the hotel.

TUESDAY 17 SEPTEMBER | Soon after breakfast and checkout head off to Munich city centre where parks, beer gardens, museums, historical sites and massive stores interwind to offer you the visitor a day to remember before your flight back to Malta departing at 1900hrs.
