MONDAY 22 MARCH

Meet your tour leader at Malta International Airport at 0400hrs for check-in for your direct flight to Riga, departing at 0630hrs. Upon arrival, transfer to Akropole Alfa Shopping Mall for some shopping and time to enjoy lunch. Later, continue to central Riga for hotel check-in and room allocation, followed by a leisurely stroll with your tour leader to become acquainted with the surrounding area. Dinner (optional) is available at the hotel.

TUESDAY 23 MARCH

Following breakfast, join your tour leader for a walking tour through Riga’s charming Old Town, discovering the rich history and architectural treasures of Latvia’s capital. Highlights include Riga Cathedral, the elegant Art Nouveau District, the lively Riga Central Market and the picturesque Bastejkalna Park. Enjoy free time for lunch and personal sightseeing before rejoining the group for an optional cruise along the River Daugava (extra). Later return to the hotel for dinner (optional) before overnight.

WEDNESDAY 24 MARCH

After breakfast, travel to Sigulda, affectionately known as the “Switzerland of Latvia” for its breathtaking scenery and rich heritage. Spend the day exploring this beautiful region, including the magnificent Gauja National Park, where rolling hills, forests and historic landmarks combine to create one of Latvia’s most spectacular landscapes. Return to Riga in the late afternoon for some free time before dinner (optional) and overnight.

THURSDAY 25 MARCH

After breakfast, depart on a full-day excursion to the charming town of Kuldīga, home to the impressive Ventas Rumba, Europe’s widest natural waterfall. Continue with a walking tour through the beautifully preserved historic centre, renowned for its traditional architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Upon returning to your hotel, you may unwind in the indoor pool and fully equipped spa (extra) before enjoying an optional dinner.

FRIDAY 26 MARCH

Following breakfast, travel to the picturesque Zemgale region in southern Latvia. Visit the magnificent Rundāle Palace (entrance included), an outstanding Baroque masterpiece surrounded by elegant gardens and parkland, regarded as one of the country’s finest architectural treasures. Later, continue to the impressive Bauska Castle (entrance included), an excellent example of 15th to 17th-century military architecture. Return to Riga, where you may opt for dinner or spend the evening exploring the vibrant city centre at your own pace.

SATURDAY 27 MARCH

After breakfast, enjoy some free time before checking out of your hotel. Travel to the elegant seaside resort of Jūrmala, famous for its beautiful 19th-century wooden Art Nouveau villas, fragrant pine forests and its magnificent 24km-long white quartz sandy beach. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the promenade, browse the boutiques of Jomas Street or relax over lunch at one of the many cafés. Later, transfer to Riga Airport for your return flight to Malta, departing at 2115hrs.
