Livigno | Italy, Austria and Switzerland

Day 1 |  Saturday

Meet at the airport at 10.30 am for our KM Malta Airlines flight to Milan Linate, departing at 12.45pm. Transfer by coach to Livigno for room allocation at our hotel which is located right in the centre of the village. Dinner at the hotel (extra).

day 2 |  Sunday

Today we explore the unique charms of Livigno on foot. A very gentle walk with no hills to climb, during which we admire the towering peaks of Mt. Mottolino and Mt. Carosello (3000m) on either side of the valley. You can take a cable car ride (extra) to the very top for a spectacular 360 degrees view of the mountains. Dinner at the hotel (optional).

day 3 |  Monday

Full day optional excursion to the beautiful neighbouring country of Austria. We drive to Landeck in Austria with free time for shopping and to explore this Alpine village. We stop to see the submerged village of Curon, with only the church steeple visible above the surface of the beautiful Lago di Resia. Then we proceed to the small, fortified town of Glorenza. Dinner at the hotel (extra).

day 4 |  Tuesday

Full day optional excursion to Switzerland. We visit the impressive towns of Davos and Klosters and walk around Lake Davos. There will be a photo stop at the top of the Fluela pass. Dinner at the hotel (optional).

Day 5 |  Wednesday

Full day optional excursion to St Moritz. From Poschiavo in Switzerland, we ride one of the world’s most famous and beautiful train journeys (ticket extra) – the Bernina. The slow-moving red train from Poschiavo to the Morteratsch glacier is an unforgettable journey, winding through mountains, across a glacier and passing magnificent lakes. At Morteratsch, we re-board our coach and continue to Celerina, then on to the world-famous St. Moritz, the playground of the rich and famous. From St. Moritz, we drive past the beautiful lakes of Chamfer, Sils and Silvaplana. Dinner at the hotel (extra).

day 6 |  Thursday

Optional half-day excursion to the nearby town of Bormio, with its charming medieval centre. Bormio has a sense of sophistication about it with its chic shops and streets with cobbled stones. Afternoon free to explore the unique charms of Livigno and for some duty-free shopping. Dinner at the hotel (extra).

day 7 |  Friday

Enjoy the day exploring Livigno. You may wish to join the Tour Leader on a visit (on foot), to the ‘Latteria’ in Livigno, where fresh dairy products including cheese, yoghurt and ice-cream are produced. A detailed explanation of the processes and machinery used (entr. extra). You may then wish to enjoy a walk along Lake Livigno enjoying the peaceful environment. Dinner at the hotel (extra).

day 8 |  Saturday

After breakfast and room check-out we depart from Livigno heading to Linate airport for our flight back to Malta leaving at 3.35pm. Arrival in Malta should be at 5.35 pm.
