DAY 1
Meet at Malta Airport at 0900hrs for your 1050hrs flight to Shannon. Upon arrival, your Maltese hosts, Julian and Rachel, will greet you and escort you to the charming Five Ferns B&B in Westport. Dinner (main course & dessert) will be served before settling in for your first overnight stay.
DAY 2
Begin your adventure with the moving Doolough Valley Famine Memorial, then admire the cascading beauty of Aasleagh Falls near Killary Harbour. Cruise through the breathtaking scenery of Killary Fjord before discovering the Sheep & Wool Centre in Leenaun. Continue to the enchanting Kylemore Abbey, a 19th-century lakeside castle surrounded by mountains, and end the day exploring the vast beauty of Connemara National Park, with the option of a short scenic trek.
DAY 3
Enjoy a leisurely day in Westport, one of Ireland’s most picturesque heritage towns. Stroll along tree-lined boulevards, explore boutique shops, or visit Westport House and Gardens, an elegant 18th-century estate linked to the legendary pirate queen, Grace O’Malley.
DAY 4
Start with Foxford Woollen Mills, renowned for Irish craftsmanship, then explore Rosserk Abbey, one of Ireland’s best-preserved Franciscan friaries. Continue to the seaside village of Killala, crowned by its 12th-century round tower, before reaching Downpatrick Head. Here, towering cliffs and the iconic sea stack create one of the Wild Atlantic Way’s most dramatic panoramas. The day will also include a visit to one of Ireland’s biggest Primark establishments for a bonanza of quality shopping.
DAY 5
Step into the past at the award-winning National Museum of Country Life in Castlebar, then on to Newport, nestled at the heart of the Great Western Greenway. Conclude the day on spectacular Achill Island, where golden beaches, rugged peaks, and wild Atlantic views leave lasting memories.
DAY 6
This morning brings you to the storybook village of Cong, famed as the filming site of The Quiet Man. Continue to Knock Marian Shrine, a site of international pilgrimage, before visiting Ballintubber Abbey, founded in 1216 and still a place of worship. Its history even includes the wedding of actor Pierce Brosnan.
DAY 7
Travel to Sligo, a town alive with culture, history, and Yeats’ poetry. Visit Parkes Castle on the shores of Lough Gill, then marvel at Glencar Waterfall, a 50-ft cascade that inspired The Stolen Child. Scenic walking paths reveal enchanting views from every angle.
DAY 8
Today we drive to Country Clare to visit famous Cliffs of Moher, part of the UNESCO Global Geopark. These 5km of dramatic cliffs reveal an ancient marine sedimentary basin. Stand on 330-million-year-old limestone pavements where Arctic, alpine, and Mediterranean flowers grow side by side. Feel the power of the Atlantic as waves crash into hidden caves below and discover why this remarkable landscape has earned its UNESCO status.
DAY 9
After breakfast and check-out, head to vibrant Galway City, with its cobbled streets, colourful shopfronts, lively cafés and a myriad of shops. You may want to visit the Galway City Museum, stroll to the Spanish Arch, or simply soak in the atmosphere before enjoying time for last-minute shopping. In the evening, transfer to Shannon Airport for your 1655hrs flight. Arrival in Malta is scheduled for 2135 hrs the following morning.
